If you are receiving laser hair removal for the first time, 6 to 8 treatments are recommended for optimal results. Because all hair is not in the same stage of growth at any given time, several laser treatments, usually at least six, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, are necessary.
Darker hair responds best to laser hair removal. Lighter-colored hair is least responsive. Be sure to avoid tanning or sunless tanners and to use a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen for up to six weeks prior to treatment. Treatment area must be clean and shaved 1 day prior to treatment.

During your treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth. DiolazeXL uses a single wavelength of light to specifically target a unique pigment present in your hair follicles called melanin. Melanin is what gives your hair and skin its color.

Hair is reduced with each treatment and results are observed after four to six treatments. The number of treatments will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage; however, at any given time your hair is in various stages of growth. This is why it may take several treatments to achieve your optimal result.
